Moldovan Guguta brings a postcard

Moldova had plans to issue a Postcrossing stamp in June 2018 and since May I had been trying to get hold of it as soon as it is released . After many a failed request attempts , two persons agreed to send me a meetup card with the postcrossing stamp - and finally I received from only one ! 

Thanks Christina! She sent me the Chisinau postcrossing meetup card with the postcrossing stamp and the special cancellation and also the FDC with the first day postmark! Since she thought I would like the stamp too , she sent me an entire sheetlet inside the cover :)))

The FDC has the first day cancellation - 23 June 2018 and also a picture of the Moldovan postbox sending out postcards to the world :) 

On the day of the Moldova/Romania Postcrossing meeting, the Moldova Post had the good idea to put into circulation a special "Postcrossing" stamp (L 11.00, print run: 120,000) designed by Lilian Iaţco, featuring the Guguţă character walking on a globe with thousands of postcards in circulation, and holding 12 heart shaped balloons forming the word "Postcrossing".
Guguţă, a character imagined by Spiridon Vangheli (born in 1932), author of books for children, is also featured on the other side of this card below.
Guguţă is considered as a true national symbol in Moldova and was one of the pioneers of animated films in the country from 1970 (under the Soviet period).
Guguţă is wearing the Moldovan national dress as well as a lamb fur cap ("caciula de cârlan") that he never leaves. Thanks to this cap, Guguţă may well protect his classmates or an entire village from cold conditions. This cap grows indeed as his generosity and kindness occur !

I received a beautiful Guguta postcard with the Postcrossing stamp and the two special cancellations too !
