Ukraine Postcrossing..

A beautiful envelope from Ukraine .

Europa stamps from three different years , a recent stamp and the Postcrossing stamp !

Ukraine issued its Postcrossing stamp in 2015. The stamp shows a young Ukrainian lady holding a pen in one hand , in her traditional dress- the elaborate and beautiful flower decked headband , the Vinok and the traditional dress with the exquisite embroidery- Vyshyvanka! The national sentiments and patriotism in Ukraine were at a peak after the 2014 revolution and people showcase their national symbols even in the stamp ! The stamp was issued on October 9th for the World post day. The stamp was designed by Natalia Andriichenko.
Value : E

The Vinok is a sign of purity and happiness and is worn by young ladies ( unmarried ) - it has many flowers on the headband with various coloured ribbons . Each flower symbolises a specific quality !
Vyshyvanka is their traditional dress elaborately done with Ukrainian rushnyk embroidery. The dress is worn during weddings and national festivals.

The next stamp is a 2017 one , showing the Khmelnytsky city hall. Khmelnytsky is a city in Ukraine named after Bohun Khmelnytsky - a Ukrainian hero. He fought the Poles and against their “ oppression “ . The city is also the place that saw the mass genocide of Jews in 1918.

The other three setanant stamps are the Europa stamps
2001- Water
2007 - 100 years of souring
2012 - Visit Ukraine

Thanks Cristina for the beautiful envelope!
