Johannes Gerardus Keulemans (J. G. Keulemans) (8 June 1842 – 29 March 1912) was a Dutch bird illustrator. For most of his life he lived and worked in England, illustrating a large number of the best-known ornithology books of the nineteenth century. Keulemans was prodigious in his output - he was commissioned to paint pictures of birds extensively throughout his career, and his prints were published continuously from 1867 to 1911. Several of Keuleman’s hand-coloured lithographs appeared in the published findings of the first survey of the natural history of Christmas Island (1900) by Charles William Andrews of the British Museum.

Thanks Irene for these wonderful covers with Australian birds !
