A Bridge that takes you from a bad place to a good one

A cover from Italy - with stamps on Bridges ! 

While I have already got a cover with the Europa 2018 stamps of Italy , I will focus on the other “Bridge” stamp on the cover 

On October 31, 2018, Italy issued an ordinary stamp belonging to the thematic series “il senso civico” dedicated to the “Il Ponte” ( The Bridge )  Association, a non-profit solidarity center, on the 40th anniversary of the constitution.

In 1978, in Civitavecchia a group of volunteers, together with Don Egidio Smacchia, made their own values ​​such as service to others, availability, listening and gratuity.

IL PONTE – Center of Solidarity Onlus was born, a center that is accessible to all, non-partisan, non-denominational, non-profit making with the aim of preventing and solving problems related to socially relevant problems and, in particular, drug addiction. Immediately, the activity carried out on the territory has set itself the goal of promoting prevention and rehabilitation interventions for adults.

Since 1989 the Volunteer Association, putting to good use the experience acquired, has turned its activity intended as “promotion to feel good” especially in favor of adolescents and minors, drug addicts with minor children in tow, involving all the agencies educational: the family, the school, the parish, the neighborhood and other territorial realities.

Truly - a unique Bridge !
